For anyone in the Traverse City area, the Interlochen percussion ensemble will be performing two of my pieces, cha chi ka and 5 Wet, in a concert on February 8th. Check out the details here.

Upcoming Percussion Performance

Tala Rasa Percussion will be putting on a concert this Saturday, June 16th at (SCENE) Metrospace. If you’re in the East Lansing area, come check it out and hear the premiere of my new piece, Roulette, for frame drums and marbles, ping pong balls, etc. Thanks to these guys for […]

Roulette

I’m hard at work on a commission from the percussion trio Tela Rasa. There are marbles involved. Stay tuned for the premiere in a month or so!

My new piece for orchestra, Coffee Hands, is complete (minus a few edits in the last movement). The piece explores the music of the various cultures involved in the coffee trade. Now to find an orchestra to play it! I’ll hopefully have some demo tracks up soon.

Coffee Hands

Some fantastic percussionists have undertaken my piece, 5 Wet, for metal water bottles. The rest of the concert looks pretty interesting, too. We will have some pre-concert jazz happening as well. Come if you can! MSU Music Building, Hart Recital Hall. 7:30pm

Premieres concert at MSU on Tuesday 4/17

The MSU Wind Symphony was gracious enough to do a reading of Isle of May today. They did a great job with a difficult piece! Time to edit. The piece will be played next year by one of the wind ensembles at MSU.

Isle of May reading

My work Isle of May won the MSU Honors Competition for Composition in the wind symphony category. This means I will have the piece programmed and performed by the highly talented MSU wind symphony this coming fall. Very exciting!
